China stated on Sunday that divergent opinions fuelled by U.S. tariffs contributed to a failure by G20 trade ministers to reach an agreement on overcapacity and forced labour.
During two days of talks in Milwaukee, trade officials failed to reach consensus on a U.S.-backed draft calling for the elimination of structural excess capacity in economies.
China's Ministry of Commerce noted that many members expressed differing views on the presidency's decision to table these issues, ahead of a leaders' summit in Miami in December.
