BJP MLA Demands Sonia Gandhi's Apology Over Vande Mataram Row

BJP MLA Sumitro Chatterjee has demanded an unconditional apology from Congress leader Sonia Gandhi following an alleged incident at the AICC headquarters on August 15.

Chatterjee, a descendant of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, claimed that party leadership attempted to stop the full recitation of 'Vande Mataram' during the 80th Independence Day celebrations.

The Naihati MLA warned that failing to respect the national mantra would push the party into oblivion, citing historical instances of the song's significance in India's freedom struggle.
