India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Randhir Jaiswal stated on Tuesday that the government has no involvement in organizing a virtual speech by former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina.
The 78-year-old former leader, living in exile in New Delhi since 2024, is scheduled to address an event hosted by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia on Wednesday.
Bangladesh has formally protested the event, warning that allowing political activities by the fugitive leader could negatively impact bilateral ties between the two nations.
