The Election Commission of India ordered a special drive to enrol left-out and first-time young electors in states where the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is complete.
Booth-level officers must compare current rolls with pre-SIR lists, conduct door-to-door visits to verify status, and facilitate Form 6 filings within about one month.
The drive follows significant voter roll contractions, including a 10.2 percent decline across 12 states and Union Territories during the second SIR phase.
