PM Modi Begins Four-Day Visit to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz Republic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uzbekistan for a four-day visit to Central Asia, focusing on strengthening regional ties and preparing for upcoming multilateral engagements.

The agenda includes planning for the BRICS Summit in September, the 2028-2029 UN Security Council term, and the India-Central Asia Summit, which has not convened since 2022.

Modi aims to reverse perceptions of declining Indian interest in the region, where trade in goods has grown from $500 million in 2010 to over $2 billion in 2025.
