Canadian poet and writer Anne Carson won the Nobel Prize in Literature on Thursday, prompting nationwide celebrations in Canada.
Carson is only the third Canada-born writer to receive the prize, following Saul Bellow and Alice Munro.
Prime Minister Mark Carney praised Carson for reimagining classics and bringing ancient stories to new audiences.
