During the launch event of his next film L368 in Kochi, producer Antony Perumbavoor stated that Malayalam viewers are unhappy with Mohanlal's chopped runtime in Tamil hit Jailer 2.
Mohanlal reprised his cameo role as Mumbai gangster Mathew in the Nelson Dilipkumar and Rajinikanth film, though costume designers and fans noted additional scenes were cut.
Released on October 15, Jailer 2 has collected ₹766 crore worldwide to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
