India rejects Turkish President's UNGA Kashmir references

India formally rejected references to Jammu and Kashmir made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his address at the United Nations General Assembly.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called the references unwarranted during a media briefing on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

Jaiswal asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is a matter of India's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and no external party has any locus standi on the issue.
