Hempfield High School Named Top School in Lancaster County Rankings

Hempfield High School secured the top spot in Lancaster County for the 2026-27 academic year, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The school climbed to 65th place out of 771 schools in Pennsylvania, while Manheim Township High School dropped to 87th place in the state rankings.

Rankings were determined by student performance on state assessments, graduation rates, and college-level exam scores, though the methodology continues to face criticism from educators.
