Mumbai Police booked Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and MNS leader Amit Thackeray on Monday for leading a sit-in protest on Sunday demanding chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s removal.
Around 1,000 workers joined the demonstration outside Shiv Sena Bhavan after police detained at least 300 people and barred a demonstration called by the Cockroach Janata Party.
Aaditya Thackeray announced that the agitation against Kumar would continue on Monday, claiming the protesters were fighting against dictatorship and attempts to suppress dissent.
