Transgender cricketer Anaya Bangar, 25, has received permission from Cricket Australia to play community cricket, with potential future eligibility for the Women’s Big Bash League based on testosterone levels.
Bangar, who underwent genital surgery earlier this year, cited scientific evidence from Manchester University to support her case regarding compliance with inclusion and fairness guidelines.
The decision faced public criticism from South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, who labeled the move as unacceptable, while Bangar urged critics to educate themselves on the established medical and policy standards.
