Total deposits in these accounts have surged 20x to reach ₹3.17 lakh crore, highlighting the success of the government's financial inclusion drive.
The Financial Inclusion Index has risen from 53.9 in 2018 to 67 in 2026, reflecting improved access to formal banking services for rural populations.
