A high-speed train crash involving an Iryo service and a Renfe service killed at least 68 people and injured dozens more on Wednesday morning in central Spain.
The collision occurred around 09:00 local time between Mora and Orgaz, roughly 140 km south of Madrid, after a stationary Iryo train carrying 147 passengers was struck from behind by a Renfe train carrying 397 passengers.
Spain's transport minister stated that a computer failure followed by an inexplicable control room instruction caused the disaster, prompting trade unions to demand his resignation.
