Ladakh Withdraws Criminal Cases Against 20 Protesters Ahead of Anniversary

The Ladakh administration withdrew criminal cases against 20 individuals accused of rioting, violence, and attacking security forces during protests last year.

The decision was approved by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena under Section 360 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, on police recommendation.

The order came a day before the first anniversary of the September 24 violence in Leh that resulted in the deaths of four protesters.
