Meta disables 3.7 million scam accounts with Singapore police assistance

Meta removed over 3.7 million scam-linked accounts and pages this year through an information-sharing collaboration with the Singapore Police Force.

Between January and June, the company dismantled more than 113,000 fraud-related entities on Facebook and Instagram, followed by 3.6 million shell pages in July.

Meta executives noted that scammers increasingly use artificial intelligence at an industrial scale to mass-produce fake profiles and generate malicious code.
