FADA data shows alternative fuel adoption surge driven by two and three-wheelers

Data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations indicated that alternative fuel vehicles reached a historic 41.95% share in passenger vehicles in August 2026.

A granular analysis revealed that alternative fuel growth in cars was largely driven by CNG and LPG rather than battery electric vehicles.

Electric vehicle adoption was most prominent in three-wheelers, where EVs accounted for 60.5% of registrations, and in two-wheelers, which rose to 9.1%.
