Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 72-hour pause in military strikes on Kyiv on Sunday, following a ceasefire proposal from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The decision coincides with a visit by U.S. envoys to the Kremlin, where they presented a series of ideas aimed at de-escalating the ongoing conflict.
While the pause offers a temporary reprieve, both sides remain in high-level diplomatic talks to determine if a long-term cessation of hostilities is viable.
