RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav met a 12-year-old boy in Patna who alleged he was assaulted by youths for filming mustard-oil lamps lit for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.
Yadav alleged that BJP supporters manhandled the child and that police intimidated him to alter his statement, while BJP spokesperson Prem Ranjan Patel dismissed the allegations as completely false and fabricated.
The opposition leader assured the boy that action would be taken to ensure accountability, even as political tensions surrounding the incident escalated in Bihar.
