Pakistan Warns Mecca Defense Pact Could Activate After Houthi Attacks

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement could be activated if Yemen's Houthi group continues unprovoked aggression against Saudi Arabia.

The warning follows a Houthi missile barrage on Tuesday that wounded at least 73 people in southern Saudi Arabia, marking a significant escalation in regional hostilities.

Signed last month by Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan, the pact functions similarly to NATO, where a strike on one member is considered an attack on the entire group.
