Delhi Police registers FIR against Prashant Bhushan over doctored video

The Delhi Police registered an FIR at the Special Cell police station against senior Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan for sharing a digitally manipulated video of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The police acted after cyber patrolling on November 3 detected a social media post on handle @thequotesnews claiming the video, carrying hostile remarks against India, was shared from Bhushan's account.

The case was filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act, following a separate MEA debunking of a fake post falsely attributed to EAM S Jaishankar.
