Nafisa Ali Sodhi shifts to targeted therapy after PET/CT scan shows cancer progression

Actor Nafisa Ali Sodhi announced on Instagram that her cancer treatment protocol changed to targeted therapy after a PET/CT scan indicated ovarian or peritoneal cancer progression with new liver-surface deposits.

Oncologist Dr Puneet Gupta explained that targeted therapy focuses on specific molecular pathways that help cancer cells grow, unlike chemotherapy which attacks rapidly dividing cells broadly.

Dr Gupta clarified that cancer progression means the disease has grown or new areas have appeared during treatment, and liver-surface deposits differ from primary liver tumors.
