The cumulative death toll from a measles outbreak in Bangladesh has reached 915, with seven additional deaths recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am yesterday.
Data shows 78 children died in the first 16 days of August, while 91 percent of all deceased patients had not received the measles vaccination, highlighting a significant coverage gap.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed health authorities to urgently address vaccination gaps affecting 40 lakh children and ensure cold-chain integrity for vaccine storage at the last-mile level.
