India has clearly communicated to the United States that a comprehensive trade deal will only be finalized once Washington provides specific preferential tariff terms for Indian exports.
The Commerce Ministry is currently conducting workshops on Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to boost India's export competitiveness, following recent diplomatic friction over trade reciprocity.
US envoy Sergio Gor stated that both nations are working toward fair and reciprocal ties, though opposition leaders in India have criticized the government for the slow pace of negotiations.
