Russia and Ukraine Agree to Oleshky Ceasefire Brokered by Melania Trump

U.S. First Lady Melania Trump secured a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the Russian-controlled city of Oleshky, which will begin on October 29.

The temporary halt in military action will allow humanitarian aid delivery and civilian evacuations for the remaining 1,700 to 2,000 residents across safe passageways.

Oleshky, located across the Dnipro River from Kherson, has faced severe food shortages and massive flooding following the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam.
