The Indian Coast Guard safely evacuated 21 crew members from the merchant vessel MV KMAX EMPEROR following a collision with another merchant ship near the outer anchorage OTB Kandla in Gujarat.
Three crew members remained onboard the distressed vessel to assist with ongoing emergency operations.
The Coast Guard activated extensive pollution response measures in coordination with the Directorate General of Shipping and state authorities to protect the coastal ecosystem.
