Karnataka Declares School Holiday Due to Heavy Rainfall

Primary schools and anganwadi centres in Sringeri, Koppa, and Balehonnur hobli of Chikkamagaluru district were ordered to close on August 1, 2026, due to heavy rain.

The holiday applies to all government, aided, and unaided primary institutions in the affected taluks as issued by the respective tahsildars.

School administrators have been instructed to arrange compensatory full-day classes on a future holiday or Saturday to make up for the lost instructional time.
