Delhi exhibition highlights cultural heritage of Rajasthan's Shekhawati region

An exhibition titled 'Raj Se Swaraj Tak' opened at the Visual Arts Gallery in New Delhi, displaying nearly 1,000 objects celebrating Shekhawati's history.

Curated by Shruti Nada Poddar and Alka Pande, the collection features traditional colonial artifacts, reverse-glass paintings, and items from restored havelis.

The Shekhawati region was recently added to UNESCO's Tentative List in 2026, helping draw renewed official attention and encouraging diaspora returns.
