Study highlights critical need for regular rooftop solar panel maintenance

A recent Council on Energy, Environment and Water study found that only half of rooftop solar adopters monitor daily performance and two-thirds clean panels monthly.

Unmaintained solar panels accumulate dust and debris that create hotspots, overheat cells, decrease electricity generation, and extend investment payback periods.

The study recommends that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy issue standard operating procedures and integrate maintenance services into national web portals.
