Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder scored centuries of 101 and 115 runs respectively, sharing a 154-run sixth-wicket partnership to help South Africa set Australia a target of 287 in Cape Town.
The pair became the first No. 6 and No. 7 batting pair to score individual centuries in the second innings of a Test match against Australia.
The milestone marked only the fourth instance in Test cricket history of a No. 6 and No. 7 pair both scoring centuries in a team's second innings, and the first since 1989.
