Air India Mandates Dope Tests for All Pilots Starting August 13

Air India will implement mandatory screening for all pilots to detect prohibited substances and medications beginning August 13, 2026.

The decision follows a confirmatory dope test failure by an Air India captain who tested positive for marijuana consumption.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has directed the airline to improve its internal testing protocols to ensure passenger safety.
