A Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787-9 carrying 271 passengers and 16 crew members returned to Munich on August 15 after experiencing speed drops during takeoff.
The aircraft lifted off with only 91 metres of runway remaining, subsequently suffering four burst tyres and tail-strike damage during the emergency return.
Germany's BFU is leading an investigation into why the aircraft's speed stopped increasing twice during the takeoff roll, forcing the crew to dump fuel before landing safely.
