Biennial elections for eight seats of the Bihar Legislative Council were held on Friday, covering four Graduates' and four Teachers' constituencies with polling scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Patna Graduates' seat drew intense focus as sitting JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar seeks a fourth consecutive term amidst internal friction after Mokama MLA Anant Singh declared support for Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Kumar Singh.
Ruling allies BJP and JD(U) are contesting four seats each in the elections, while the Jan Suraaj Party is fielding candidates across all eight contested seats.
