The Union home ministry approved mobile internet suspension within 500 metres of eight Delhi sites designated as temporary jails for Saturday's CJP protest, following a request from Delhi Police.
The order, signed by Union home secretary Govind Mohan, was effective from noon to 10pm on Saturday to maintain public order and prevent incitement to offences.
Protesters, including CJP activists, student leaders, and detained Supreme Court lawyers, were held at locations such as Chhatrasal Stadium and Yamuna Sports Complex.
