Microsoft has acknowledged a bug in Windows 11, version 25H2, that triggers incorrect notifications stating 'Microsoft Defender Antivirus is turned off' even when the software is functioning correctly.

The issue, logged on August 28, causes intermittent alerts during system startup and persists even if notification settings are disabled, though the antivirus remains active in the background.

Microsoft advised users to verify their security status in settings and confirmed that a fix for these false alarms is currently in development and will be released soon.
