Students Protest After Fatal Satya Niketan PG Building Collapse

Over 150 Delhi University students launched an indefinite protest on September 8, 2026, demanding transparency after a building collapse in Satya Niketan killed seven people and injured five others.

Protesters allege that authorities are underreporting the death toll and that several students remain unaccounted for following the September 6 incident near the South Campus.

Students are demanding ₹1 crore compensation per victim and immediate safety audits of all PG accommodations as hundreds vacate buildings deemed unsafe by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
