
The Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society has launched a statewide awareness campaign across colleges and workplaces to encourage voluntary HIV testing among the population.
Officials estimate that over 56,000 people in Karnataka remain unaware of their HIV status, prompting the distribution of circulars to institutions including Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Project Director Padma Basavanthappa introduced a QR code-based tool featuring seven risk-assessment questions to guide individuals toward confidential testing centres or online counselling services.
