Vattiyurkavu Reports Surge in Dengue and Chikungunya Cases

Vattiyurkavu has emerged as a hotspot for vector-borne diseases, reporting 54 of the district's 101 Chikungunya cases recorded until August 12, 2026.

Thiruvananthapuram district has reported over 700 confirmed and probable dengue cases in August alone, prompting a two-week intensive prevention campaign by health authorities.

The administration will deploy additional contingency workers for house-to-house visits and conduct intensive fogging starting Monday to combat high Aedes mosquito breeding indices in the constituency.
