The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh reached out to community members in Canada to celebrate Diwali responsibly by adhering to municipal by-laws on fireworks.
The organization asked residents to avoid bursting firecrackers late at night and to clean up firecracker debris from public parks and spaces.
Diwali falls in November, which is federally recognized as Hindu Heritage Month in Canada, alongside commemorative events on Parliament Hill and a special Canada Post stamp.
