Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced plans to establish a large-scale Genome Analysis Centre at Quantum Valley in Amaravati.
Inaugurating a pilot genome sequencing centre at Guntur General Hospital, the minister stated the facility will provide free genetic and biomarker tests for cancer patients.
The government reported screening 2.65 crore people out of a targeted 4.27 crore population for oral, breast, and cervical cancers, identifying nearly 7,500 new cases.
