The Tri-Creek School District in Indiana will eliminate all K-8 sports and extracurricular clubs on August 1, 2027, and school bus transportation on August 1, 2028.
These cuts are necessary to address a $3 million deficit resulting from Senate Enrolled Act 1, which reduced property tax revenue for public schools.
The district, which serves over 2,200 students, will hold town hall meetings on August 11, 19, and 26 to discuss the financial crisis before the school year begins on August 18.
