At least 14 activists from the banned Joint Awami Action Committee were killed during clashes with security personnel in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir on July 27, according to committee members.
The JAAC reports that approximately 30 people have died in the region since protests began last month over 12 contentious legislative assembly seats and basic rights like electricity and flour.
Local administration officials claim that around 5,000 protesters attempted to enter Rawalakot, while police accused armed groups of opening fire on law enforcement, injuring two officers.
