Karnataka ISSP Launches Awareness Campaign on Persistent Chronic Pain

The Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Society for Study of Pain launched a public awareness campaign during Pain Awareness month to promote specialised care for persistent pain.

Victoria Hospital's pain clinic in Bengaluru has provided outpatient consultations to over 4,000 patients and performed more than 1,200 specialised procedures since June 2023.

Specialists emphasised that pain lasting beyond three months can become an independent medical condition requiring multidisciplinary treatment rather than mere tolerance.
