The BJP-led NDA won the Tirhut Teachers’ seat in the biennial Bihar Legislative Council elections, with candidate Narendra Prasad Singh securing 2,945 votes to defeat independent rival Bhushan Jha.
Counting of votes across eight constituencies on Tuesday also showed NDA candidates leading in the Kosi Graduates and Patna Teachers seats, alongside Jan Suraaj Party leads in Darbhanga Teachers.
The Patna Graduates constituency emerged as a major flashpoint following the suspension of JD(U) MLA Anant Singh for actively campaigning against sitting MLC Neeraj Kumar.
