Ankur Hooda's docudrama The Calf Doll selected for BFI London Film Festival

Ankur Hooda's independent Haryanvi docudrama 'The Calf Doll' (Khal Bachhda) was selected for the documentary competition at the 70th BFI London Film Festival.

Set in Dayalpur village near Faridabad, the hybrid drama stars elderly retired teacher Satbir Singh Hooda and explores the traditional rural practice of crafting lifelike calf dolls.

The film critiques the impact of modern migration, private dairies, and economic pressures on traditional farming communities and livestock bonds.
