Court Dismisses Delhi Deputy CM Parvesh Verma's Defamation Plea Against Saurabh Bhardwaj

A Rouse Avenue court on Saturday dismissed a criminal defamation complaint filed by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Parvesh Verma against Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal declined to take cognisance of the plea, ruling that Bhardwaj's social media statements regarding a POCSO case were framed as questions.

The court stated that the tweets and videos criticised the government and reiterated existing information rather than intending to defame the complainant.
