Cyber-criminals hack FBI systems and steal medical records of thousands of agents

The hacking collective ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for breaching FBI systems, asserting they hold sensitive medical data for up to 60,000 current and former staff.

Stolen samples seen by media include fitness-for-work examinations, blood and urine test results, personal addresses, and specific medical conditions like allergies.

Security experts warned the permanent compromise leaves agents vulnerable to phishing, identity fraud, blackmail, and targeted attacks unless an FBI advisory is retracted.
