The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau detected irregularities, fund diversions, and fraudulent pension payments during surprise inspections at 78 offices across 16 welfare boards in Keralam on Thursday.
Inspectors found contributions unbanked or misappropriated, pensions disbursed to ineligible persons using forged documents, and payments continuing for deceased beneficiaries without recovery steps.
VACB Director Manoj Abraham stated that detailed follow-up investigations will be conducted and strict legal action initiated against responsible officials.
