The International Monetary Fund reached a staff-level agreement with Pakistan on lending program reviews, potentially unlocking about $1.21 billion in financing pending board approval.
If approved by the board, Pakistan could access $1 billion under the Extended Fund Facility and $210 million under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility.
The disbursements would bring total support under both programs to approximately $5.7 billion, helping Pakistan bolster foreign exchange reserves and meet debt repayments.
