Over 4,200 Books Withdrawn from J&K Higher Education Institutions

The Jammu and Kashmir government reported in the Assembly that over 4,200 books have been withdrawn from college circulation due to objectionable material.

Ninety-four percent of the withdrawn titles originated in the Kashmir division, while the remaining share came from the Jammu division.

A three-tier scrutiny mechanism examined over 21 lakh book titles following a Higher Education Department circular to eliminate misleading or extremist content.
