Assam Prohibits Drones Near Amur Falcon Roosting Sites

The Assam government banned drone operations within and around Amur falcon congregation sites on Friday to protect the migratory birds from injury.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests ordered district and police authorities to demarcate sensitive roosting areas and strictly enforce the ban.

Assam hosts vital roosting sites for Amur falcons at Umrangso in Dima Hasao and Dharamtul in Morigaon during their migration.
